Sequence of Work
The anticipated scope of work to be completed on the project in each construction year/phase is highlighted on the graphic below. The final construction phasing will be determined by the Contractor and is subject to change. Updates will be sent to area residents during construction to keep the public informed on what construction activities are occurring or will occur during the 3 construction seasons.

Preliminary Construction Phasing
Project constructed in multiple phases over 3 construction seasons:
Phase 1 (2021)

Phase 2 (2022)

Phase 3 (2023)
CR 26 (north half between CR 26/63 roundabout and TH 3)
CR 26 (west of new roundabout)
All remaining local street connections to CR 26
br>(i.e. Ames Crossing, Archer Trail, etc.)
Detour Routes
The construction of the project improvements will require detours routes for existing CR 63 and CR 26. The regional detour routes for thru traffic vary based on the construction year/phase. The anticipated detour routes for Phase 1 (2021) and Phase 2/3 (2022/2023) are shown on the graphics below. Additional, local detours may be necessary during the different phases of construction and area residents will be informed during construction of any additional detours needed for construction.

Phase 1 (2021) Detour Route

Phase 2/3 (2022/2023) Detour Route
Access During Construction
The Contractor will be required to maintain access to driveways and adjacent side streets during construction. Other than short disruptions to access when work is being directly completed in front of a driveway or roadway access, access can be expected to be maintained during construction. Dakota County, City of Inver Grove Heights, and City of Eagan will be working closely with residents and the Contractor throughout the construction project to maintain access and address access concerns brought up by area residents.
Additional Information
Construction staging and phasing has been discussed as a part of the May and November virtual open houses. Both virtual open houses are available to viewing on the project website, under the meetings tab. A staging visualization to assist in understanding what the project area will look like after 2022 is also available for viewing below. While this visualization is not meant to be a perfect depiction of what the area will look like after 2022, it is an attempt to aid in understanding how access is maintained to residents during and after 2022. We hope this will assist in helping you understand the different phases of construction and visualize what the area will look like during construction. Construction staging and phasing is an important part of the success of this project. We understand additional questions may still exist and encourage you to reach out to the project team.
